What is ERP 2.0 / OBU(On-Board Unit) ?
An On-Board Unit (OBU) is a smart, three-part device used in Singapore’s ERP 2.0 system, replacing older In-Vehicle Units (IUs). It is designed to track distance for road pricing, manage parking, and support future Intelligent Transport System (ITS) services.
The OBU consists of:

A satellite-communicating antenna

An optional touchscreen display
This device enables more flexible distance-based charges and seamless digital payment integration, while a compatible mobile app can be used as an alternative to the touchscreen for added convenience.

What is the down-time ?
The installation of an On-Board Unit (OBU) typically takes 2–3 hours. We recommend setting aside this time to ensure a smooth and complete installation process.

Will there be any changes on my IU number ?
At Nam Huat, we handle the complete migration from your In-Vehicle Unit (IU) to the new On-Board Unit (OBU). Your IU number remains the same, and no updates are required on your part after installation. The process is designed to be smooth and hassle-free.
